Personas and archetypes.
Kata reads a single archetype word from how you actually train, eat and sleep. It helps the product understand its users in the aggregate, without ever touching your content.
Computed on your device
Your persona is derived locally from the last 14 days: how often you train, which sports show up, how consistent your protein and water are, and roughly how you sleep. From those traits Kata picks one of nine archetypes.
The nine archetypes
| Archetype | Roughly who it is |
|---|---|
| Ronin | High activity, strength focused, consistent eating: disciplined and self-directed. |
| Pacer | High activity with an endurance bias: running, cycling, rowing, swimming. |
| Charger | High activity across the board, intensity over routine. |
| Builder | Moderate, steady activity with consistent eating and decent sleep: compounding gains. |
| Explorer | Moderate activity spread across several different sports. |
| Riser | Moderate activity, building the habit up. |
| Night Owl | Active, but running on short sleep. |
| Quiet Keeper | Steady on the quiet fundamentals: consistent eating or strong hydration. |
| Awakener | Just starting the practice. |
What actually leaves the device
Only a compact summary syncs, and only once a day at most: the archetype word, a few coarse traits (activity level, top sports, eating and hydration consistency, sleep pattern, your phase, and optionally gender), plus country and timezone inferred from your device. It cannot be traced back to any log, meal, chat or photo.
It lets us understand who Kata serves and build the right things next, at the level of abstraction a survey would give, not by reading anyone's data. Your logs and chats never leave your device. See Your data.
