One surface, not twenty#

You do not learn Kata screen by screen. You talk, and Kata routes what you said to the right place. A meal becomes a food entry, a lift becomes a workout, a number becomes a weigh-in. The data views are there when you want to look, but you never have to go hunting to log.

The three moves#

• Log by talking: say what happened and Kata turns natural language into structured entries. No forms.
• Every save is a card: what Kata saves arrives as a lock-in card. In manual mode nothing is saved until you lock it in; in auto mode Kata saves what you tell it, and every entry can be undone.
• Look when you want: Today, Focus, Activity, Nutrition, Sleep and Mind all read the same store.

Why it is built this way#

Logging is where every tracker loses people: too many taps, too much friction, on the exact days you least feel like it. A sentence is cheap. By making the conversation the whole interface, Kata keeps the daily cost of honesty close to zero, which is the only way a habit survives a bad week.

When you are offline#

Kata keeps working without a connection, because your data lives on your device. When the network drops, a slim label settles in at the top: Offline · everything you log stays on this phone. It never blocks a tap, and when the network is back it reads Back online for a moment and leaves.

• Keeps working: every data view, logging from the plus button on any data screen, trackers, supplements, water, weigh-ins, the workout player, Apple Health imports on iPhone, Health Connect imports on Android and the backup file.
• Needs a connection: replies from Kata, photo readings, Kata voices and Talk, the scanner's product lookup, WHOOP, signing in and the sealed snapshot on the web. Without a connection Kata says so in one line, and nothing you logged is lost.
• In a browser: once the web app has been opened there with a connection, it opens offline too.
