Settings, tab by tab.

Settings is one screen with nine tabs: General, Phase & goals, Supplements, Activity, Food, Notifications, Invite friends, Plans and Data. Here is what lives where, and what each control does.

General

  • Bring your history: already use another app or an AI assistant for your food, training or health? Paste what it knows about you and Kata keeps the parts that matter, without dragging over the old numbers.
  • Profile: name, birthday, age and height.
  • Kata: how Kata talks to you, the tone of its written replies with an optional note in your own words; the Lock-in mode, Manual (Kata proposes, you confirm every card) or Auto (it saves directly and everything is recorded in the Kata log); and the Coach voice, where Kata Plus and Unlimited pick a Kata voice and every plan keeps the device voice. See Lock-in cards and Voice.
  • Language & region: the app language, metric or imperial units, and the region and currency used for defaults. All three are detected from your device on first run, no location access is used, and each can be changed here.
  • Your plan: the three plan cards, right here in General as well as on the Plans page. See Plans and fair use.
  • Appearance: Dark, System or Light, and in the apps a switch for haptics.
  • Account: Sign out, which keeps your data on this device for when you return, and Clear my data on this device, for a shared or public computer.
  • About & legal: the not-medical-advice line, Privacy and Terms in the app, Support by email, the website on the web, and a list of recent events you can copy into a support mail.

Phase & goals

  • Current phase: the phase you are in and since when. Switching the phase resets the start date; history and logs stay untouched. The ten phases are described in Focus.
  • Focus: the focus areas you picked, with room to add your own.
  • Goals: weight goal, protein goal per day and sleep goal in hours.

Supplements

  • Stack: every active supplement with its dose, its slot (Morning, Midday, Evening, Before activity, After activity) and, if you want, an amount per slot, a product name and a note. Add one with the plus, or tap Not sure, ask your coach. Swipe a row to delete; protein powder is tracked in Nutrition, so it counts toward the daily goal.
  • Archived: what you removed from the stack, history kept. Restore puts one back.
  • Medications: flip This is a medication in the add sheet and it lives here instead: units on hand and units per intake, so Kata can project the run-out day and remind you once about a week ahead. Names stay on this device, and the coach sees only how many you take and how steady you are unless you allow the name per medication. Kata schedules and remembers; it never advises on doses or interactions. See Medications.

Activity

  • Routines: your saved sessions, each with a name, a type, an optional duration and its exercises. New starts one.
  • Movement: how you like to stay active, with room to add your own.
  • Equipment: what your home gym holds, so proposals always fit what you have.

Food

Quick foods: the meals you eat on repeat, each with a label, its protein and optional calories, ready for one-tap logging. Swipe a row to delete.

Notifications

  • Notifications: the master switch. Turning it on asks the system for permission.
  • Deliver as: Push notifications, which reach you outside the app, or In app only, where everything collects under the bell. Each category below can choose its own way.
  • What Kata sends: Reminders, Daily rhythm (morning intention, midday check in, evening review), Coaching nudges, Come back reminders, Weekly check in, Personal notes and Founder voice notes, each set to Push, In app or Off.
  • Quiet hours: a from and to in your local time. Nothing is sent inside them.
  • How often: Minimal keeps it to the essentials, Balanced adds the lighter touches.
  • Open the quick start guide: the short tour, any time.

Invite friends

Invite a friend by email, share your invite text or copy your link, and see your invites with their status and the months you earned. How the months work is in Invite a friend.

Plans

A calm panel naming the plan you are on, with the Founding member mark if it applies, and See all plans, which opens the Plans page with the three cards side by side. Details in Plans and fair use.

Data

  • Your privacy: the vault line, and behind it What Kata knows about me, the viewer of everything the coach holds. See Your data.
  • Moving to a new device: your recovery key, shown as text or as a QR code, and Restore with a recovery key for a backup from another device.
  • iCloud backup: on iPhone only, the automatic iCloud backup switch, Back up to iCloud now and Restore from iCloud.
  • Backup & your data: the last backup, the automatic frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Manual), Back up now, and under Move or keep a copy anywhere the buttons Export my data, Import and, in the apps, Restore from backup. See Backup and restore.
  • Connections: one row into the Connections screen. See Connections.
  • Crash reports: only ever there when something went wrong, kept on this device, copyable for support.
  • Support: Contact support opens your mail app with a short template.
