Visual progress.

The scale lies week to week: photos do not. Visual progress is where the change you can actually see gets recorded, honestly and privately.

Guided sets

Start from your Profile, where Visual progress lives. A set is four slots, Front, Side, Back and Face, each with a short guide: stand relaxed, arms at your sides, same spot, same light, every time; turn 90 degrees and do not suck in, honest beats pretty; back to the camera, a mirror or a timer helps; a neutral face straight to the camera, where definition often shows first. Take a photo or choose one from your photos, skip any slot, review the set and save it, dated today. A set needs at least one photo.

Before and after

Every set sits in your visual log, newest first. Pick any set as Before and any other as After and Kata puts them side by side, pose by pose. This is the view that keeps people going when the scale is being stubborn, and it is the one you can share, as an image, only when you choose to.

When a set is due

Kata leaves a quiet notice on Today when your last set is a while back, or when you have never taken one: two minutes, same light, same spot. Consistency is what turns a folder of photos into a real timeline. The tape measure has a place of its own next door. See Measurements.

Private by default

Progress photos are the most personal thing in Kata. They are stored only on your device, in IndexedDB, are never uploaded and are never part of the sealed cloud snapshot; the backup file and Export my data are the only copies, and both are yours. A before and after leaves your phone only if you share it. See Your data.
